Um, can I get a re-write???

I want to share with you the walk I took with Shelby Sunday evening. This is at the end of our block, isn't it beautiful?? The sun was just beginning to set... Isn't this just lovely? The sunset reflecting off the water was just gorgeous! Shelby walked to the end of the pier... for some reason, I wasn't too keen on following her. The sky was captivating! But, I did finally walk to the pier and look what I saw... Isn't she adorable ???? I bet the temperature dropped at least 15 degrees in an hours time, she was getting cold! The moon looked lovely as well. Then, Shelby said "it's too cold, I wanna go home!" and back to reality we went... Tomorrow, I turn 41. I don't feel 41. I remember when 41 was OLD ! Not anymore! 40 is the new 20!!!! So, I'm turning 21 tomorrow... right? Love & blessings to you all,

These pictures were taken in March of 2008. The first shot is the northwest corner of my front yard. The second is the west edge of my property, through which a "river" runs. Fast forward to January 2009 when Shelby ice skated in the yard! On to March when things warm up a little... And May where the water is starting to rise and creep south toward the house. There's our much missed Teddy Bear wandering toward the lake, er yard. Oh, our lovely Mallard Duck couple. Yes, this is in our front yard. I know we live in Wonder Lake (called "Wonder Tuckey" by the haters), but who the hell decided it was okay to toss a tire in our front yard??? Ahhh, summer in redneck country! I wonder what that nasty green stuff is. It's like a bunch of green confetti, but slimy! Shelby frog hunting in June! That night, more rain... If it's dark, it's standing water. June 18th, the water rises up to the house! Today, July 19th, now a stream and a marsh???? Looking no...

Hi Everyone! The last week has been very “eventful”! Last Thursday, we finally went for haircuts (about 6 weeks late!) As Shelby says, I switched to summer colors (blonde highlights) and had a few inches taken off the length. Now Shelby, my daring daughter, got a LOT of hair cut off! Of course, she'd look gorgeous bald! Take a look! Some of you are already aware of the "lake" in my front yard. It's not supposed to be there. I am having a major drainage issue and no one seems to care or want to help me (Village of Wonder Lake or McHenry County Environmental Health Dept.) The only "cool" thing about our lake is that we have Mallard Ducks who come to "fish" in our yard. Well, they had babies. There are only three (my guess is that the neighborhood kids were messing around with the nest - because they do stuff like that - brats!) Shelby sees them and yells "MOM, THE BABY DUCKS ARE HERE!!!!!” Of course, the mother immediately gathers her babies ...
